Shell LiveWIRE entrepreneur boosts employability through venture

KUCHING (June 8): Sabahan Cherry Ding Chew Li of Tempeh Chips Manufacturing (Hong Xin Food Sdn Bhd) has made strides since making her mark as the Shell LiveWIRE 2022/2023 state and national winner.
It all started with the idea of creating full plant-based tempeh chips without using the traditional Indonesian chicken seasoning, which she started from home during the pandemic, in the year 2021.

“We are also proud to share that you can purchase TemTem Tempe Chips produced by a Shell LiveWire entrepreneurship programme winner,” said Shell Malaysia.
In celebration of its opening, Shell Café announced the ‘Buy 1 Free 1 Coffee’ promotion. This offer is valid until June 3, 2024.
The café is also having A ‘perfect pairing’ promotion which allows customers to purchase two pastries for RM10 or the Americano and Curry Puff combo for RM12.

Shell LiveWIRE’s grand winners revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: Shell has awarded five enterprises as grand winners of Shell LiveWIRE Malaysia 2022 in the national finals.
It was Shell’s first time in running this entrepreneurship development programme at a national level.
The winners are BeeBag, manekNya, Qarbotech, Hong Xin Food Sdn Bhd and Satok Bridge Area Consulting Engineers Sdn Bhd.
They were among the 15 finalists selected from 180 entrepreneurs who participated in last year’s Shell LiveWIRE programme.

KOTA KINABALU: Shell Malaysia’s mission is, and always has been, to provide relevant initiatives that help locals in meaningful ways, which include fostering local talent and encouraging local businesses.
In 2015, when the the Sabah Government called out for more local entrepreneurs, Shell Malaysia decided to bring its Shell LiveWIRE programme to Sabah.
Shell LiveWIRE is the company’s flagship enterprise development programme, which strengthens local economies across the globe by promoting entrepreneurship and developing entrepreneurs.
Since its debut in Sabah in 2015, Shell LiveWIRE has been one of the State’s most important programmes. Participants travelled from as far away as Kunak, Kota Belud, and Kudat to participate in the first Shell LiveWIRE programme held in Sabah.
Five Enterprises Awarded Sabah Shell LiveWIRE Winners

Kota Kinabalu – Five enterprises from Sabah were awarded the winners of Shell LiveWIRE 2022 by Shell in the state finals, which took place at Plaza Shell, Kota Kinabalu. This is Shell’s eighth year in running this entrepreneurship development initiative for the for Sabahan entrepreneurs.
This year’s winners Sukod Borneo Enterprise, Reka Chef Sdn Bhd, LJD Corporation, Give 1 For Two Sdn Bhd and Hong Xin Food Sdn Bhd were part of over 60 participants who joined this programme. They went through a comprehensive bootcamp, where 10 selected finalists moved on to the final pitching competition. Here, the entrepreneurs were assessed based on their business pitches, which demonstrate their drive to grow their business ideas based on their comprehensive business plans and five winners were chosen thereafter.
BETCON connects, showcases over 200 businesses from BIMP-EAGA

Trade convention from October 25 to 29 at Bridex puts spotlight on businesses and opportunities from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines
The BIMP-EAGA Trade Convention (BETCON) 2023 is currently underway, bringing together more than 200 businesses from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines at Bridex from October 25 to 29.
With the theme “Connecting Businesses,” BETCON is organized by the Brunei BIMP-EAGA Business Council (Brunei BEBC), representing Brunei’s private sector in the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), an intergovernmental economic cooperation program.
Held in conjunction with Brunei’s chairing of the 26th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meetings and Related Meetings, BETCON aims to address the calls from sub-regional leaders for the private sector to take a prominent role in leading post-pandemic recovery in trade, tourism, and investment.
